SJE DSA January Lunch & Learns: Supervision and OGS

The Social Justice Education Departmental Student Association (SJE DSA) are hosting two Lunch & Learn sessions this month led by SJE faculty members! They will offer students practical guidance on key milestones in graduate studies: building your supervisory committee and crafting a strong funding proposal. Finding Supervision & Forming a Committee

Presented by Dr. Rubén Gaztambide-Fernández, Professor and Chair of Social Justice Education, this session will explore the role of supervisors and committees, strategies for finding the right fit, and how to build strong, supportive supervisory relationships.

Designing an OGS Proposal — Tips and Strategies

Presented by Dr. Hayley Brooks, Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream), this session will walk students through how to design and frame a compelling Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) proposal, drawing on successful examples and practical writing strategies.
