January 1, 2026

The 91Ö±²¥ (OISE) and the Université de l’Ontario français (UOF) recently announced a new strategic partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration in research, education, training, and immigration. The signing of the five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of the Partnership was celebrated with a series of events held across both campuses on November 5 and 6, 2025.

The November celebrations featured a conference and discussion circles led by Professor Odome Angone, visiting from Université Cheikh Anta Diop of Senegal, a student-led talent show, and the formal signing ceremony of the MOU. Professor Angone’s presentations explored topics ranging from decolonizing knowledge and rethinking research, to cyberfeminism in francophone Africa, sparking dynamic conversations across the community.

Professors Amal Madibbo and Sarah El Halwany are the coordinators of the MOU for OISE and UOF, respectively. Dr. Madibbo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Justice Education.
