Dr. Amal Madibbo is Guest Editor for Special Issue of Enjeux & Société

January 1, 2026

We are pleased to congratulate SJE Professor Dr. Amal Madibbo on the publication of the special issue of Enjeux & Société titled (Volume 12, Number 1, Winter 2025). Dr. Madibbo led this special issue as guest editor and contributor.

This publication marks the first Canadian French-language collective volume dedicated to decolonization. The issue brings together the work of eleven Francophone researchers who analyze Canadian and international case studies. They offer transdisciplinary perspectives across education, sociology, history, politics, feminism, migration, and decolonial praxis.

The special issue challenges the assumption that decolonial scholarship is primarily rooted in Anglophone traditions, instead centering the longstanding and influential contributions of Francophone thinkers and movements. Through its focus on epistemologies, perspectives, and praxis, the collection advances critical understandings of colonialism, coloniality, and decolonization in Francophone contexts.

The full special issue is available in open access on Érudit:

Dr. Madibbo also authored the introductory article to the issue, which frames the thematic and theoretical contributions of the collection:

Congratulations to Professor Madibbo on this contribution to Francophone decolonial scholarship!
