The School of the Environment, the OISE Library, and OISE's Sustainability & Climate Action Network (SCAN) invite students across the University of Toronto tri-campus to submit their work to the 2026 Sustainability Thinking Exhibition, which will be held the week of March 2nd, 2026.

The Exhibition is an exploration of sustainability topics and environmental issues through the arts, including visual and installation art, digital media, music, or other forms of creative communication. This year's theme for the Exhibition is "Navigating the Planetary Crisis through the Arts: The University and the Polycrisis." The theme guides the Exhibition's accompanying events - however, artwork does not have to relate to this theme. We invite art submissions on any topic related to the environment, sustainability, or the climate crisis and related crises.

Please carefully review the form and this Exhibition webpage before finalizing your submission.

Submission Criteria

  • Submissions are due Monday, January 19th, 2026, at 11:55 p.m. EST.
    • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Students must be currently enrolled at the University of Toronto to be eligible to submit to the Exhibition.
    • Undergraduate and Graduate students of any level are invited to submit their work.
  • Generally, work must be completed upon submission. If you are submitting coursework, a draft can be submitted by January 19th and your final work by February 20th.
  • Submissions can be physical, digital, or a combination of both.

Further Details

  • Time of submission does not affect your chances of acceptance into the 2026 Sustainability Thinking Exhibition.
  • Students will be contacted by the School of the Environment about the status of their submission application after the submission portal closes in January 2026.

More details about attending the Exhibition will be posted in the new year.
