Biography

Andrea is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Developmental Psychology and Education program, where her research examines how neurodevelopment is shaped by adverse life experiences. She is currently using fNIRS to investigate neural mechanisms of displacement among refugee youth. Through this work, Andrea aims to identify the neural pathways that support resilience and social-emotional well-being, with the broader goal of informing evidence-based interventions that promote healthy development in youth facing challenging circumstances.
