Biography

My name is Latifa Soliman, I completed my MEd in Education Leadership and Policy at OISE in 2020 and just began my PhD in Language and Literacies Education this past September.

My research focuses on displaced post-secondary students from war regions and their journeys of learning the languages of host countries, work I'm deeply passionate about because I believe research should serve and uplift communities.

Outside of academia, I find peace and creativity in Islamic art and watercolour painting, which remind me of the beauty in diverse cultural expressions.
